The Peninsula Heritage Inc.

Peninsula Heritage Inc. (Kingston Peninsula Heritage) secures preserves and curates objects and places that profile the natural heritage social and cultural heritage of the Kingston Peninsula. The organization operates the John Fisher Memorial Museum and Archive featuring history of the Kingston Peninsula; maintains an historic home 1810 Carter House and Tearoom; is steward of the Moss Glen Nature Trail; maintains the Cedars and Bayswater Lighthouse and is developing the Tyng Hill Nature preserve. Acquired the former glebe lands of Trinity Church Kingston to create the Tyng Hill Nature Preserve for public enjoyment. Provided summer employment to seven students. Hosted two summer exhibits – Time Walk an interactive exhibit provided by the New Brunswick Black History Society and 'The Era’s Store' representing Peninsula country stores over the decades. Community outreach: held two trail days at Moss Glen; hosted a paddling trip to Bayswater Lighthouse; celebrated River Day at Trinity Church; presented 6 sessiona in the Saturday Speakers Series; organized a 'Birds and Blooms' at Shampers Conservation Area. Added 157 artifacts to the Collective Access data base. There are now 5 062 artifacts catalogues. 402 have been uploaded to Artefacts Canada for public viewing. The Special Exhibit and Archive space was reconfigured to provide more space for document storage improve accessibility and provide better working conditions. Offered 4 Saturday Brunches at Carter House.
