The odawa native friendship centre puts on various programs to positively affect the quality of life for aboriginal people living in the capital region including: odawa sweetgrass home childcare agency youth support employment training & referral family support services counselling referrals culture relations (anti-racism) alcohol and drug counselling referrals and an emergency food bank location. The complete list of on-going programs consist of: akwe:go alternative secondary school indigenous bail supervision indigenous criminal court worker. Cultural resource. Early years family support healing and wellness indigenous healthy babies healthy children urban aboriginal healthly living indigenous community justice kizhaay anishinaabe niin life long care national indian brotherhood language and culture reaching home wasa-nabin and sweetgrass home child care. In addition to the programs listed previously odawa native friendship centre also commenced the following programs: - intergenerational trauma program will improve the well-being of urban indigenous community members as they seek to improve their mental health. - 510 rideau drop-in centre which is available to provide support services to the indigenous homeless or imminent risk of homelessness outside housing first
