The Mission to Seafarers Halifax

The Mission to Seafarers Halifax promotes the spiritual moral & physical wellbeing of seafaring persons without distinction of creed colour or nationality. The staff and volunteers of the Mission conduct ship visits shop for seafarers unable to leave their ships transport seafarers to and from their ships arranging medical appointments as necessary worship services at the Mission and on board ship speaking engagements on behalf of the Mission celebrate the IMO Day of the Seafarer Sea Sunday. Gather and distribute warm clothing and blankets to seafarers. Shoebox gift program for seafarers during December & January. Programming by the Mission is assisted by a roster of approximately 35 volunteers who perform watch-keeping duties in the Mission Centre and seafarer welfare ship visits in the Port of Halifax.
