BLOOM: three commissioned choreographers create a 5-minute piece to be combined with tea ceremonies and wine tastings that interprets the dance providing an intimate experience for a small audience. This popular series sells out annually over three spring performances. Privilege at Home brings dance into Metro Vancouver neighborhoods enhancing community connections through events like block parties and anniversaries. Community workshops in collaboration with various festivals including the Heart of the City Festival and reached nearly 400 attendees with our production The Impossible Has Already Happened. These initiatives strengthened local relationships and offered diverse audiences engaging dance experiences. The AIR Experiment - We explored somatic practices and the development of subtle movement patterns from utero examining how these influence limb movement rhythm and our dance choices. Each artist in residence (AIR) created and named a unique social dance which we shared with both dancers and non-dancers during a Dance Party at the end of the process.
