The Llama Sanctuary Society

We rescue camelids assisting the RCMP and SPCA with their cases specializing in capturing wild/escaped camelids. We assess all incoming camelids We nurse and treat all cases as required giving ongoing care mostly for the remainder of the animal's life. We rehabilitate/train all resident camelids We run a strict pre-adoption programme; attending our orientation course for camelid care is required We offer advice/virtual assistance via internet and telephone to all camelid keepers We run training programmes for volunteers and camelid keepers and carers We give guided educational tours to the public We provide bespoke tours/events for community care organizations schools pre-schools and universities We provide places for veterinary students as interns We provide natural disaster evacuation and temporary accommodation and care We create craft items for sale in the gift shop as fundraising We work with a local animal rescue providing foster care and socialization of semi feral cats preparing them for adoption. We assist in vetting the potential adopters We have two volunteers who contribute 2 hours each weekly
