The Learning Disabilities Association - Durham RegionRegistered

We conduct monthly open online meetings on topics related to learning disabilities (ld's). Meetings are free. We advise parents on approaches to meeting school officials regarding problems and educational modifications for ld-identified students. We represent our members and community on the ontario government mandated special education advisory committees (seac's) of the public and separate school boards in durham region. We operated a website for our chapter with links to an on-line library of ld-related topics (books literature videos research). We promoted awareness day initiatives in conjunction with both boards on learning disabilities. We awarded in partnership with both durham district school boards scholarships to 2 deserving ld students to further their education.
