The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation

SickKids Foundation has been inspiring our communities since 1972 to invest in improving the lives of children and their families. Donor support is a critical source of funding for the Hospital for Sick Children and in recent years has accounted for about 10% of overall funding support at the Hospital. Our funding supports: At SickKids: Patient care; education programs for staff and trainees; capital projects; the purchase of equipment; and ground breaking research into children's health. Our core funding to the SickKids Research Institute for example allows our researchers to compete for national and international research grants multiplying the impact of donor dollars. - Nationally: through our national grants program the Foundation provides funding for the child health researchers across Canada. - Internationally: Foundation funding supports training at SickKids for international fellows; training programs for health professionals in the Caribbean and in Africa and treatment of certain international patients at SickKids.
