Scholarship program provides students education related funding once they have completed a mentor ship program and volunteered giving back to the community. Students accepted into the program are required to volunteer 40 hours at a registered not-for-profit in the community. The mentor ship program is provided by the board of directors and covers a variety of topics; financial management mental health/wellness resume building communication skills etc. Student are required to participate in 10 hours of mentor ship related learning. Scholarship students are also part of community cleanup and redevelopment projects. - hlf aims to reach students on indigenous reserves who are in need of educational assistance and mentoring in order to prepare themselves for life outside their home community. - overall goal is to help students who aim to achieve higher education.
