The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Foundation

The guelph giants special hockey foundation's mandate is to provide a program for intellectually disabled athletes to engage in playing ice hockey. As a general rule this activity has never been available to them. The program provides an inclusive experience by giving them the opportunity to participate amongst their peers in an environment which supports their disabiltiy and allows them to improve not only their hockey skills but equally important their emotional and social abilities. The organization strives to assist these individuals and their families with integration into the community by creating an atmosphere for social acceptance developing self esteem sportsmanship and independence.
