The Edmonton Community Foundation Priv Act

Edmonton community foundation (ecf) exists to help the people of the edmonton area by encouraging philanthropy and funding charitable activities. Through contributions from donors ecf assembles permanent endowment funds so that the investment returns support our community in perpetuity. Ecf’s grant programs: contribute to making edmonton a more vibrant caring sustainable healthy smart active and engaged community; make a visible and lasting difference in the greater edmonton are; offer timesly and constructive support to the charitable sector; honour the intention and purpose identified by donors; and provide granting opportunities which are balanced flexible fair creative responsive streamlined accessible and transparent. The social enterprise fund provides alternative financing and technical assistance to charitable organizations engaging in social enterprises including affordable housing. The endowment sustainability program coaches charities to develop a strong endowment and planned giving program ecf’s student awards programs provide financial assistance for students usually on the vasis of financial need and community involvement. The bipoc grant stream was created t highlight ecf’s commitment and approach to support organizations that are led by and serve communities who are black indigenous and people of color across the greater edmonton area. In addition this grant stream is an opportunity for ecf to take additional action to support communities most impacted by the ongoing and systemic racial disparities.
