About The Down Syndrome Association of York Region
Provides quarterly newsletters to update the membership about important issues and results of past events. Website has been continually updated and is being used to communicate to members and provide information to the public. Committee meetings held monthly in order to promote family and information sessions for the membership. Programs are offered like chatterboxes (a speech/language and occupational therapy group) to members needing this service. Karate and at times music therapy is available to those children with down syndrome. Annually buddy event which all members are able to attend this event to have a positive experience and raise awareness. Various other ad-hoc events are held during the year to raise awareness and provide ongoing positive experiences.
