The Dominique Harvey & Robert Al-Jaar Lupus Foundation

1. Fund Lupus Education for Medical Students Our purpose is to advance education by providing grants bursaries or scholarships to medical students at universities in Canada for the study of and/or research in Lupus. Specifically in 2024 we provided funding for the 'Dominique Harvey-Jaar Lupus Summer Research Bursary' - an annual summer bursary for the study of and/or research in Lupus - that was awarded by the university (a qualified donee) to a student in its medical school. The study and/or research was performed at the Lupus Clinic of a hospital affiliated with the university. This program continues into 2025 and beyond. 2. Contribute to Funding Research in Lupus Our purpose is to advance education by contributing to the funding of research in Lupus at universities or hospitals in Canada and making the results publicly available. Specifically in 2024 we provided funding for 'The Dominique Harvey-Jaar Lupus Research Award' - an annual research award for Lupus research - that was awarded by the hospital (a qualified donee) to a doctor in its Lupus Clinic for conducting Lupus research. This program continues into 2025 and beyond. No new programs were initiated in 2024.
