About The Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society

Launch of a major national archive and a national exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1923 chinese exclusion act. The exhibition opened on july 1 2023 in the new chinese canadian museum. The archive also went live at the same time and made available online over 450 early chinese identity documents and stories that were crowdsourced from across canada. An additional 275 identity documents were gathered over the past year (july 1 2023-june 30 2024) and will be added to the archive. Meanwhile the exhibition was seen by over 28 000 visitors as of the end of june 2014. About 30% of these visitors came to see the exhibition more than once. Lastly programming took place in several cities across canada bringing the project's findings and stories to other parts of the country. Support for and the release of monies from the monty lee scholarship fund. These annual awards provide support for students entering post-secondary education. Continued work with the chapman foundation and the lost canadians project to assist those who have lost ther canadian citizenship due to problems in the citizenship legislation. Support by two of our board members for the chinese canadian museum of b.c. And providing content and expertise for permanent exhibit space for chinese canadian military stories and history. Support for veterans and their widows still living at home. Support for the drumming across canada-legacy 150 celebrations-canada day celebration. To showcase the multiculturalism and diversity of canada. Their mission is to celebrate canada day through simultaneous nationwide drumming to promote diversity multicultural harmony for a better world. To support pchc-mom in their hearts of freedom project to support the 100th anniversary of victory square and the cenotaph in downtown vancouver.
