Chamber music hamilton has been a presenter for chamber music that brings groups from around the world to hamilton. Cmh has had this role since the late 1800's which makes it one of the oldest such presenters in north america. Chamber music is 'classical' or 'fine' music written for a small cast of players where each player/instrument carries its own musical line. As long as the string quartet the 'sacred form' has been around composers have tested their metal against it and so the repertoire kept getting richer. Its performers around the world rise to the demands. Nothing is required of the listener but an openness to the emotions the sense of ceremony and the narrative.
