The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation- Fondation Canadienne D'Orthopedie

RESEARCH: The COF continues to fund research with a focus on innovative approaches to treatment and recovery designed to minimize hospital stays and returning patients to pain-free mobility as quickly as possible. EDUCATION: The COF updates and distributes information to the public related to general bone and joint health and mobility with a particular focus on staying mobile and healthy in the face of lengthy wait-times brought about by the pandemic for those awaiting orthopaedic care. Resources are available in print and online. Information regarding resources available to maximize access to care is provided via the COF website and promoted via social media. The Foundation’s podcast OrthoLink informs and educates patients surgeons caregivers researchers and the community at large about orthopaedic related subjects through personal stories of those who have been impacted and are involved. COMMUNITY CARE: The COF provides support to patients through its GLA:DTM Canada program an education and tailored exercise program proven to help individuals with hip or knee osteoarthritis to reduce their symptoms and increase their function.
