About The Canadian Arabic Orchestra

1) The Festival of Arabic Music and Arts (FAMA) launched in 2017 is a two-week celebration of Arabic music arts and culture with an average of 14 events. FAMA brings well-known artists from all over the Arab World to Ontario presenting their work to Canadians of Arab and non-Arab heritage. FAMA provides an important platform for various local Canadian artists from various backgrounds to present their music culture and art and to interact with international artists for valuable knowledge transfer. 2) On the Cross Canada Tour the CAO travels with multiple performances of our own production from coast to coast to bring elements of Arabic and other World music on one stage to audiences of all cultural backgrounds promoting the CAO's vision to connect people and build bridges across a cultural divide. 3) Local Concert Series: In an attempt to vitalize the Arts and Culture Scene in Mississauga this series aims to present local artists in venues around the city. Concerts present Arabic Indian Jazz and other world music in an attempt to be as inclusive and representative of our society as possible. Following the success of the LCS in Mississauga we have expanded with them to London and Ottawa giving artists the opportunity to grow their audience base around Ontario and increase their income. 4) Educational Workshops: Members of the CAO conduct periodic lectures seminars and workshops at various educational and community venues. 5) Pop-up Festival: Pop-up Festival featuring 4-8 live music song and dance performances showcasing the diverse cultures and artistic talents of our Mississauga community. This open-to-the-public event will take place at various park locations bringing residents together to experience the vibrant musical traditions of local performers. 6) The Canadian Arabic Youth Orchestra has continued to grow and attract more members; children who joined the CAYO six years ago are now young musicians able to perform full programs and to
