The Bowen Island Arts Council

Arts advocacy and delivery of arts and cultural programs and services including the operation of the gallery @ cove commons an arts facility featuring artworks on display and for sale as well as a venue for cultural activities performances and educational programming. We support and promote artists and artisans and their work. We produce and coordinate performance and literary series arts and cultural workshops and classes public art projects presentation of special events and we are committed to developing relationships with local first nations through arts and cultural. We are an advisory body to the municipal government in matters concerning arts and culture on bowen island and are tasked with the implementation of the cultural master plan a bylaw of the bowen island municipality. We are active in creating awareness about our cultural heritage. Operation of the organization is largely due to the involvement of volunteers who fill approximately 150 roles and donate 5 000 hours of time towards the delivery of our programs and services.
