monthly educational speaker series; nature study outings; locating rare and endangered species and helping protect them with signs/education; rare seed collecting for propagation; monitoring and collecting data on endangered species; conducting biological inventories including support several bird counts by providing volunteers; planting beach grass on the Lake Erie coast; conducting research and providing comments on planning proposals and where appropriate supporting applications for grants to help protect or restore habitats/species; providing volunteers to Environmental Advisory Committee; advocating for protection of endangered habitats and environments; supporting the Lake Erie Coastal Collaborative; sending high school students to Ontario Nature Leadership Camp; producing bi-annual newsletter the Rambler; providing stewardship signage etc for the Shagbark Nature Reserve; advocating for and encouraging the planting of native species and the control of invasive plant species; advocating for the city / region to adopt Bird Friendly City standards; advocating for Natural Assets Inventory Management system for municipality.
