The Association for the Protection of Fur-Bearing Animals

We develop and deliver training courses seminars workshops conferences and educational materials that promote humane coexistence with wildlife including beavers coyotes and black bears. We conduct and/or commission research into issues related to the welfare of animals and other ancillary subjects. We uphold the administration and enforcement of canadian animal welfare laws by monitoring the practices of commercial fur farms and other commercial operations that harvest fur-bearing animals to determine compliance with relevant laws. We uphold the administration and enforcement of canadian animal welfare laws by identifying infractions by monitoring and reviewing publicly accessible information and through tips from the public. We carry out public policy dialogue and development activities in support of our charitable purposes.
