The Aids Network

The aids network has three main streams of programming - hiv support for people living with hiv community-based hiv work directed at populations (gmsh acb & whai) that may be at increased risk of acquiring hiv and harm reduction work supporting people who use drugs as well as building capacity in communities to better support people who use drugs. Areas of focus within these streams of programming include practical supports such as referrals to health and social service organizations direct outreach including mobile outreach to connect with target populations as well as community development and education to increase awareness and capacity in communities to address that stigma associated wit hiv substance use and related issues. In addition to staff support volunteers and community partnerships are key to the organization's success. Volunteers contribute to many areas of programming such as governance administration and direct outreach initiatives. Community partnerships provide a significant contribution in areas such as service coordination and increased access to clinical healthcare services.
