About Team Rubicon Canada

Team Rubicon Canada continued to serve Canada and the international community before during and after crises. Our teams conducted 12 disaster response operations across Canada and international deployments. Most notably we served the communities of French River Ontario; Jasper Alberta; Savona Cooks Ferry and Venables Valley British Columbia; as well as the Pictou and CBRM in Nova Scotia. Internationally our Greyshirts deployed to Ashville NC; Toombs GA and Hawaii. All told with our service projects Team Rubicon Canada contributed 55 546 hours of volunteer service. In 2024 Team Rubicon Canada was officially welcomed into the Humanitarian Workforce Program establishing itself as one of the five major NGOs working within the Emergency Humanitarian aid and Disaster Response sector. As a result of this key partnership with Public Safety Canada Team Rubicon Canada was integrated into national response framework for federal assistance. Team Rubicon Canada also developed important new capabilities and programs that significantly enhanced our ability to carry out disaster response operations. Notably we conducted a joint Disaster Training Exercise which incorporated the Province of Ontario's Incident Management Team. Additionally we used the same exercise to validate our route clearance capability; comprised of sawyers and Heavy Equipment capable of rapidly reopening closed roads due to debris. Further Team Rubicon Canada established a partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and Alberta FireSmart which established the conditions for the future conduct of Fire Mitigation Projects in Northern Alberta communities impacted during the 2023 wild fire season.
