Advance the education of syrian refugees at al salam schools in reyhanli turkey by providing teachers and educational supplies and materials. Advance the education of syrian refugees at al salam school by providing tutors who teach remotely (via skype) english as a second language to prepare the students for the toefl ielts and sat exams. 31 skf volunteers are involved in this program working with 12 students. Provide scholarships based on academic merit to al salam school students to pursue their studies at canadian universities. This also involves privately sponsoring the students for resettlement to canada and providing necessary settlement support and assistance. Facilitate the integration of syrian refugees in canada by providing supports including interpretatoin counseling and employment preparation and assistance. Skf volunteers have been involved in the integration process of our sponsored students by assisting them in: applying for a medical card applying for a sin finding them a living space filing their tax returns and helping in their university registration process.
