Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts

Organizes an annual literary festival featuring Canadian writers of diverse cultures genres and styles from all regions of the country with a commitment to the presentation of Indigenous artists. Works closely with the local school district to bring Canadian writers into classrooms to promote literacy and students’ development as readers and writers. Coordinates and supports financially the annual publication of an adjudicated anthology of writing by Sunshine Coast elementary and secondary school students. Organizes writing workshops for adults children and youth. Works with other community organizations such as the Sunshine Coast Literacy Coalition and Sunshine Coast ElderCollege to support local literacy initiatives for people of all ages.
