WE PROVIDE PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF SUNDRE AND SURROUNDING RURAL AREAS. THIS INCLUDES OFFERING A WIDE VARIETY OF LIBRARY MATERIALS AND SERVICES (PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES PUBLIC USE COMPUTERS FREE WIFI FAXING SCANNING AND PROCTORING). ONGOING PROGRAMS INCLUDE LEGO CLUB TECH TUTORING SENIOR'S LODGE VISITS SUMMER READING CLUB GYM TIME RHYME TIME GENEALOGY CLASSES SEASONAL EVENTS AUTHOR AND ARTIST TALKS AND EXHIBITS. OUR SPACE IS ACCESSED BY A VARIETY OF GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR (BOOK CLUBS ART AND CRAFTS GROUPS PRIMARY CARE NETWORK MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMMING 0-18 YEAR PROGRAMMING THROUGH PARTNERING ORGANIZATIONS). OVER 40 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED OVER 1 000 HOURS TO HELP PROVIDE OUR COMMUNITY WITH AN EXCELLENT LIBRARY EXPERIENCE. This year we added three new children's Busy Bags to our collection and introduced a book puzzle and craft kit for toddlers. We offered two book folding classes a seniors I-Spy activity bag program at our local lodge and partnered with a buddy library branch in our system to run a home school Pen Pal program and art exchange program. We hosted a series of armchair travel sessions where patrons were able to travel the world from the comfort of our library living room. Destinations included Nimibia & Botswana; Cambridge Bay Nunavut and Laos & Vietnam. We held an information session on keeping and caring for backyard chickens in our community and hosted several new teen events including Nerf Wars & Mini-golf nights. Summer programming included family activities on Wild Wednesdays with activities including water gun canvas painting First Responder story time (complete with bylaw cruiser and fire truck) and Family Edition of Nerf Wars. New this year were summer day camp programs for community children aged 4-11 hosted in partnership with 2 other organizations.
