About Stratford Shakespearean Festival Endowment Foundation
The Stratford Shakespearean Festival Endowment Foundation provides income from the funds that it maintains to support key activities of the Stratford Shakespearean Festival of Canada. These include the Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre an intensive in-house professional training program that is unique in Canada. In addition to its support of the training program itself the Endowment contributes toward the artist fees paid to all participants. Other Festival activities whose needs are met in part by the Endowment include new play development educational programs for students and teachers of all levels and specialist coaching activities. Endowment funding also helps sustain such other core areas as the mounting of our Shakespeare productions; workshops and other forms of artistic exploration and experiment (including our Laboratory program); and the Stratford Festival Archives the world's largest archival collection devoted to a single theatre. Endowment funding helps maintain capital assets including the new Tom Patterson Theatre.
