Steveston Community Society

The Society provides public amenity by administering maintaining and operating a community centre in the Steveston community of Richmond B.C. for the use and benefit of the public. This includes a public park and children's playground. The Society offers programs and services for all members of the community including but not limited to: preschool seniors children and youth adults persons with disabilities and at-risk youth. The Society also offers a wide variety of fitness programs developed to support the physical mental and emotional well-being of the community-at-large. In addition the Society provides programs to advance the public's appreciation of the arts by providing opportunities for artistic performances or exhibits and arts-based programs workshops and activities. The Society scholarship program supported through an endowment with the Richmond Community Foundation awards grants to community high school students. In addition the Society recruits a vast number of volunteers for its programs and events.
