About Stanley Park Ecology Society
The Mission of Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) is Education Conservation and Research rooted in Stanley Park. SPES designs and delivers programs focused on nature stewardship conservation wildlife monitoring research habitat enhancement and ecological education. The Educationdepartment engages in school programs teachers workshops day camps nature based clubs. As well we off er a wide range ofpublic education through education walks talks and workshops (both online and in-person). We operate Vancouver's only NatureCenter and host a dedicated information line for safety awareness and action regarding Urban Wildlife and species of concern fo rStanley Park. The Conservation department is actively involved in invasive species removal planting wildlife monitoring researchand data collection. We operate in a Joint Operating Agreement with Vancouver Park Board and provide ecological advise tothePark Board. We operate a small Cob House that is open for events involving the Stanley Park Train. It is open only for select times of the year and we sell popcorn at the Cob House. As well we offer room rentals.
