St James Evangelical Lutheran Church

We have entered into a joint ministry arrangement with 2 other Lutheran congregations in the area - St. Matthews Conestogo and St. James Elmira. Together we offer weekly in-person worship services to our members and the wider community. For those who remain uncomfortable with in-person activities we provide audio recordings of worship services as well as printed material that allows members to follow the service at home. These services were provided through a full-time pastor and a pastoral assistant contracted to provide additional support to the pastor. We have also continued our focus on providing pastoral care and counselling to members and friends as needed. We continue to publish a quarterly newsletter and provide regular electronic communication to stay in touch with members and friends of the congregation. We have resumed several social activities that were important to members prior to the pandemic - namely fellowship opportunities following worship services and constructing quilts and comforters for those in need. We operate a cemetery. The congregation continued to support the work of Canadian Lutheran World Relief the wider Lutheran Church and food banks in our community. We are making our space available to community organizations to expand our community partnerships
