About St Andrew's Presbyterian Church
St. Andrew's administers Christian Faith as an extension of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. It conducts weekly worship services weddings funerals Sunday School and other Christian fellowship activities such as Bible Study Christian Book Club Youth Group and Choir while addressing Christian needs of our congregation and our community at large. We support several Christian mission projects around the world and locally we offer a lunch program once a month for seniors. We have a Bell Choir and a Junior Bell Choir and run a joint Vacation Bible School with our local Baptist Church in the summer. For community outreach we hold joint services with our local churches for Remembrance Day Good Friday and Thanksgiving as well as an Outdoor Service at our public library in June. We sponsor our youth who attend Christian Camps throughout the summer. People Who Pray meet on a regular basis in our church lounge and we continue to offer our auditorium to AA each week for their meetings. The Special Friends Club of St. Andrew's runs a Saturday program for developmentally delayed youth and a seven week summer camp that not only offers respite for their families but also fellowship for the participants. The local chapter of the Girl Guides now meets in our auditorium. We have now completed our amalgamation with Burns Presbyterian Church in Erin and we welcome their enthusiastic members into our congregation. During Covid-19 we have made adjustments in our services with the shutdowns. Each week the service is Zoomed out to the community and we have implemented a fellowship time on Wednesdays also on Zoom. With the needs in our community on the increase we have stepped up our financial support to help fund many of our local support groups that are stretched to their limits. We have offered additional funds gift cards and warm blankets to those who can use them. We have opened our doors once again and we are slowly getting back to normal.
