Spiritus Chamber Choir and Performing Arts Ensemble Society

Spiritus Chamber Choir delivered a program of four public concerts during the 2023-2024 fiscal period: 'Of the People' (Christ Church Elbow Park Calgary AB November 5 2023); 'Of the Heavens' (Christ Church Elbow Park December 9 and 10 2023); 'Of the Earth' (Knox United Church Calgary AB March 3 2024); and 'Of the Soul' (Christ Church Elbow Park Calgary AB May 25 2024). Spiritus also performed as a guest of other arts organizations in Alberta: 'Concert for Humanity' (guests of Calgary Civic Symphony Jack Singer Concert Hall Calgary AB October 22 2024); 'Kantorei Choral Festival' (guests of Mount Royal Kantorei Bella Concert Hall Calgary AB April 21 2024); and 'Connect Create' (guests of Chronos Vocal Ensemble McDougall United Church Edmonton AB May 24 2024). In the 2023-2024 season Spiritus initiated a new program - the Spirit Vocal Ensemble - aimed at providing youth aged 18-30 a venue to perform high-calibre choral music. This is a historically underserved demographic for choral arts in Calgary. Spirit performed publicly three times during the 2022-2023 fiscal year: as guests of Spiritus Chamber Choir at the 'Of the Heavens' concert (Christ Church Elbow Park December 9 and 10 2023); as guests of the University of Calgary Chamber Choir (Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall Calgary AB March 16 2024); and as guests of the Out of the Blue Chorus at the 'A Spring Concert' show (Grace Presbyterian Church Calgary AB June 7 2024).
