For decades protecting children and their rights has been our priority; a mission we continue in more than 130 countries and territories today. S0s children's villages' vision is that every child belongs to a family and grows with love respect and security. To make this a realty sos canada focuses on children profoundly at-risk. Our involvement with sos children's villages ensures that thousands of orphans and abandoned children are provided a home a caring parental-figure a sense of belonging in an sos family medical care education and other support. Our outreach programs provide practical support to families at risk in communities near our villages including child-headed and grandparent-headed ffamilies. The youthrise partnership between sos children's villages canada and scotiabank was launched in 2024 to reach nealy 800 disadvantaged youth in jamaica and mexico helping them overcome barriers to education employment and entrepreneurship as well as providing opportunities to address discrimination and climate change in their communities. Youthrise participants will have access to essential learning tools digital technology and employability resources. This includes individualized career coaching skills-building and entrepreneurship training access to unique networking tools and internship opportunities. Scotiabank employees will volunteer their time and expertise supporting participants on their career journeys through employability training and mentorship.
