Single Parent Association of Newfoundland

Single parent association of newfoundland's (span) first and core service is to link single parents to professionals and agencies with which span has established a liaison for assistance in areas such as legal medical and financial. Ongoing programs include: (i) free food and clothing outlet - free donated clothes are available to anyone in need and food hampers are prepared monthly for single parents; (ii) single parent employment support program (sesp) - provide support such as financial skills job search and confidence building and other forms of support to unemployed single parents in addition to assisting in obtaining employment; (iii)christmas support program - assist single parents with providing a better christmas for their families through donations and direct support from sponsors; (iv) back to school program - provide basic school supplies for student from k-12 through financial and in-kind donations from sponsors; (v) individual counselling - provide counselling and intervention for financial assistance programs for single parents.
