Sids Calgary Society

Sids calgary society (scs) is a non-profit charitable volunteer organization that offers support to families whose infant or young chilf has died suddenly and unexpectedly advocates for thr interests of these families educated health care professionals and the public supports and encourages support. Scs facilitates peer to peer support through social media a 24-hour phone line regular group meetings and a regular newsletter. Scs provides a bereavement package containing self-care products and books on grieving for newly bereaved families. Scs hols an annual remembering event to honour and celebrate the babies that have died. Scs also sponsors an annual weekend grief workshop for parents. Scs hosts the wave of light gathering at calgary city hall on the evening of october 15 pregnancy and infant loss day. Scs has working board of 12 members. The 2024 general membership was 30 individuals.
