Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society

Preserve & protect the Nationally Designated Heritage Lighthouse at Sheringham Point & surrounding property & traditional access for the public; fulfill all the requirement of the Heritage Lighthouse Protection Act including collection of historic information oral history manage Jennie's trail. Continue managing Flea Beach (MOT right of way) & manage & protect local property for environmental safety. Continue protection and rehabilitating passive parkland at the shore. Continue and expand Orca protection and monitoring. Assist with CORAL program at UVIC; assist with Orca monitoring; assist with weather monitoring. Interpretation has been completed and staffed on weekends. Binoculars added to view whales. Continued work with the Elementary School Ambassador program. Continuing attendance in community events for raising awareness and promotion of the Lighthouse.
