About Seniors Resource Centre
To act as a resource for information referral and advocacy issues of concern to seniors; to identify needs of the elderly in areas not already served by other agencies along with appropriate means to meet those needs; to enable older adults to learn how to better maintain their health enjoy a more active lifestyle and serve their community; to provide an access point for informal educational activities (speakers series etc); multi-year participant in the cvitp -- nearly 500 clients per season. Over 2000 hours given by a dozen volunteers to this and other programs. Book exchange lending books and disability aids; weekly chess and scrabble clubs and coffee'n'chat; partnership with nearby regional library in support of their speakers series; coordination of the annual friendship games with nearly 200 participants.
