we operate and maintain an Activity Centre for people age 50 and upwards - we provide people the opportunities for activities recreation and social contact; there are approximately 25 different activities that range from active such as table tennis and exercise classes to pool cards singing yoga and similar - we provide public amenities for the benefit of seniors of the local community; - we provide reasonably priced and nutritious meals for seniors; this consists of hot daily lunches 5 days per week; except statutory holidays and Summer months; we also provide pancake breakfasts six - eight times per year. The public are also able to purchase these meals - we provide frozen meals at a reasonable price for our members so they can eat at home in the evening & on weekends - there is a library of books and puzzles that are available at a very nominal fee - we provide the opportunity to volunteer and thus provide a sense of worthwhile contribution to others The Centre is run entirely by volunteers and there are no paid employees. For the 2023 - 2024 year we have 10 Board members; approx 14 office volunteers and 25 kitchen volunteers; all the in-house activities are run by volunteers and various people also volunteer as needed If we feel there might be an interest in a new activity we will endeavor to facilitate this.
