Sean Ryan Children's Fund

Provides respite nursing funds to famlies in toronto. Mississauga & southwestern ontario areas. We receive referrals from hospitals. Ccac and other social services. The fund pays for nursing agencies to send a nurse into a child's home to provide parent relief nursing. The families we assist are coping with the emotional financial and physical stress of having a child with a chronic illness handicap or requires palliative care. Parents use the nursing hours to 1) get a full nights sleep 2) spend one on one time with their other children 3) attend to other family errands and appointments. In general the daily activities they can not do when attending to an ill child. We are sponsoring a new family with respite care in the london area. We are supporting campfire circle children's camp which provides ill children with a camping experience while providing parents with a short time of respite from the daily care of their ill child. We are looking to add support to an additional 1=2 families in 2025 with respite funding.
