Scarborough Arts

Promotes and encourages the development of the arts and culture programs initiatives events and advocacy activities in the local scarborough community. - programs include: annual juried art exhibitions and shows; community arts programs and events including trainings skill-building workshops and professional development opportunities for underrepresented and underserved artists and community members; online / in-person hybrid programming in response to covid-19 to address barriers of isolation loneliness and adverse mental health effects/affects in local community and exacerbated by the pandemic; community arts advocacy initiatives; and arts and craft shows and exhibitions in the bluffs gallery cedar ridge creative centre clark centre for the arts and at other various satellite locations in the local community. Large-scale events on-hold due to covid-19; working on dual hybrid in-person (health & safety guidelines observed) and digital programming in 2021-22; working towards increased mid-to-large-scale events / engagements as pandemic recovery continues and upon advice from public health authorities. -publishes monthly newsletters offers meeting space to members artists and grassroots collectives acts as an information hub and provides resources to the local community through digital platforms offices at 1859 kingston road and our website. -partnership programs with various organizations artist groups and grassroots collectives.
