Urban Restoration & enhancement pilot initiative: The goal of the one-year pilot initiative was to promote foster protect and restore the ecology and promote the biodiversity of the Urban Seine River Greenway through piloting and learnings from a) evidence-based ecological practices b) improved environmental data collection and human systems management c) expanded partnerships and d) exploration of sustainable funding to determine best steps forward for Save Our Seine with the Initiative after the pilot period. Summer Team Program: This is a long standing program of SOS making a significant contribution to the stewardship of the seine River Corridor. Public Awareness and Education: The main focus for the year was the creation and implementation of guided tours. In addition to the tours the committee continued work on the In-Seine Art Project consulted and reviewed an idea for a book about the Seine River and planning for the 2024 members’ night. Seine River Corridor Policy & Development: Work in partnership with all levels of government businesses and non-profit organizations for stewardship planning of the Seine River Greenway History Project: SOS has been an organization for over 30 years and decided to capture some of its history from its past leaders. Funding was obtained from the Winnipeg Foundation for this important project.
