Saskatchewan Health Authority

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely health care for all the people across the province. The SHA has approximately 40 000 employees and 2 770 physicians who provide services to Saskatchewan residents. Service is delivered in the community or at one of the 270 facilities operated by the SHA. Services include: - Acute care - Rehabilitative care - Long term care - Mental health & addiction programs - Public health and community based services - Home care services - Emergency medical services (ambulance) Surgical program including additional surgeries and support expansion of the surgical information system - Support seniors care and facilitate seniors living in their own homes and the community - Address the health human resource strategy to meet future health-care needs - Continue to support permanent acute and complex care beds located at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon (36 beds) and Pasqua Hospital in Regina (28 beds) - Enhance emergency medical services (EMS) - ICU enhancement strategy - Address new and ongoing Mental Health and Addictions initiatives - Investment in a northern security model - Support health human resource strategies including registered nurse travel pools and physician assistants - Fund five additional virtual triage physicians and reduce emergency department service disruptions - Specialized medical imaging services including additional Computed Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Interventional Radiology (IR) capacity in the province - Improve access and enhance Cardiology Neurology and Epilepsy Services - Increase provincial endoscopy services - Optimize patient flow services provincially - Support the development and stabilization of a comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology (GI) program in the province - Capital facilities equipment and life/safety maintenance
