Sackville United Church

Conduct weekly worship services; give ministerial support for children youth and adults; provide pastoral care and hospital visitation; donate funds to organizations for mission and service (national and international support for people and places in need); provide opportunities for fellowship and community-building; support and sponsor local outreach programs (Sackville Food Bank Sackville Community Association school food programs etc.); provide financial support for school supplies for low-income students; provide space and support for LGBTQ2AI+ justice initiatives and programs including a safe space for youth and young adults PIE day events and maintaining an Affirming Fund created to provide financial support to LGBTQ2AI+ persons with a focus on gender affirming care; support climate change education sustainability and environmental justice; provide space for local community groups (performing arts meditation addiction recovery and support etc.); Programs in conjunction with Open Sky Co-op designed to facilitate mentorship and relationship-building between seniors and young adults at risk of isolation; hosting a harm-reduction machine (in partnership with Ensemble Moncton) to dispense essential supplies to vulnerable populations; provide online gatherings groups and resources for those who are not able to leave home; provide an ongoing Christian presence in the local community. Establishment of a collaborative commission with two other local churches to share resources and personnel in order to explore ways to best meet the needs of the wider community. Two new major outreach projects: 1) Community Connect project pairing local students with seniors at risk of isolation for fellowship and community 2) QS4A (Queer Space for Adults) expanded programming to support and serve local queer young adults.
