Rideau Park United Church

Rideau park united church is a vibrant faith community that seeks to embody a loving god as revealed in jesus christ. We recognize that in order to reflect god's love and grace and to faithfully follow in the path of jesus we are called to honour all god's children for their unique gifts and to promote peace social justice and a healthy environment as we work together to deepen our own spiritual growth. We share in worship prayer and learning as we offer care and support to all including those of diverse ages abilities gender identities and sexual orientations races ethnicities religions and economic backgrounds. All are invited to participate fully with mutual respect in the life and work of the church. We come together in worship prayer and music each sunday morning. The service is video webcast each week and available in the archives. We have a large ministry of music including choirs from age three and up chimes and bell choirs. We learn about our christian faith through bible exploration meditative service book studies and healing pathways. Like many organizations we have been working to reestablish our programs and activities that support a christian life for the community - shared family meals; a variety of music programs for ages thre to one hundred; seniors lunch; euchre club quilting and knitting groups; pastoral care and worship services to several retirement communities; support for food cupboards community houses multi-faith housing initiative christmas gift card program; financial support through the benevolent fund and support to the local universities open table and pause table. We offer meeting space for groups in our local community: guiding scouts alta vista community association and quilting guilds fitness classes. We provide rental space when available to community organizations individuals and small business entrepeneurs
