About Rick Hansen Foundation
The Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is dedicated to removing barriers to inclusion so that people with disabilities are thriving in an accessible inclusive and healthy world. For over thirty five years the Foundation has facilitated collaboration forged partnerships and generated social innovations. We continue to develop programs and initiatives that raise awareness change attitudes and remove barriers in the places we live work learn and play for people with disabilities. We also fund innovative spinal cord injury related research through partnerships with organizations such as the International Collaboration on Repair Discoveries (ICORD). Our programs and initiatives include the RHF School Program RHF Ambassador presentations awareness campaigns the RHF Accessibility Certification? (RHFAC) Program including accessibility and disability inclusion training accessibility improvement grants and accessibility advisory services. The Foundation is accredited by the Imagine Canada's Standards Program demonstrating our ongoing adherence to best practices in board governance financial accountability and transparency fundraising staff management and volunteer involvement. The Rick and Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities provides financial support to Canadian youth with disabilities to pursue post-secondary education and realize their full potential.
