About Richmond Poverty Reduction Coalition
* RASC: This training program teaches research writing and advocacy skills to persons experiencing poverty. * VisionZero phase II: continued research (by RASC participants) on pedestrian safety for those experiencing poverty updated survey to be given to large community of interest report of research to public and Richmond city council. * Research and monthly distribution (to agencies and individuals working to alleviate poverty) of a list ongoing and new services available to low income individuals. Our coalition of individuals and service agencies collectively volunteer over 100 hours/month in supporting these projects. * R.E.N.T. research project surveyed general public to gauge interest in affordable adequate and appropriate rental housing in Richmond. * Keeping Seniors Housed: Started this project with literature review of best practices consulted community and member organizations and developed survey to be given to community of interest. * Advocated for improvements to Richmond's Low-End Market Rental (LEMR) program.
