Restorative Justice Housing Ontario

Rjho rents houses or apartments and then rents out on per bedroom transitional basis to occupants who are ex-incarcerated persons for whom it would otherwise be very difficult to find safe accommodation due to reluctant landlords and insufficient incomes. Houses accommodate 4 or 5 occupants. Rents are frequently the amount available from social assistance programs unless there is outside employment. The accommodation is accompanied by support groups of trained volunteers offering encouragement and accountability. The work is overseen by a very experienced board of directors and managed by a program director (an ex-incarcerated man). There are currently 18 residents in our 4 houses. Rjho's growth strategy encompasses securing further houses to rent to ex-incarcerated persons who do not have residence. Rjho continues to further enhance its fundraising strategy as part of its vision and mission.
