About Refugee Women's Network
Refugee Women’s Network provides a response to the needs of refugee women and immigrant women settling in Toronto and the GTA by bridging the language barrier through education advocacy and supportive programs. Our mission is to empower refugee and new immigrant women with tools and resources to enhance and develop their skills through education to successfully integrate into Canadian society while still maintaining respective cultural values. Refugee Women's Network's primary programs are the Learning Labs which are designed to help refugee women learn English in a safe supportive environment. The Learning Lab is currently the only program offered to all women by women without geographic or time restrictions. Refugee Women’s Network is open to all women regardless of when they immigrated to Canada. Refugee Women's Network also supports women through the Women Helping Women support group where women receive support for challenges they are facing from food insecurity domestic violence gender-based violence depression issues facing their children how to talk to their child's teacher and other issues women are facing. Refugee Women’s Network is about empowering refugee and immigrant women by helping them rebuild their lives. We have added Financial Literacy and Digital Empowerment as part of our program to ensure newcomer women gain the skills to be employable and be financially literate. This also includes promoting and educating economic empowerment and entrepreneurship for women eager to start their own bakery or sewing business.
