Reel to Real: a Celebration of Moving Images for Youth Society

The reel to real : a celebration of moving images for youth society (reel to real) is a non-profit registered charity dedicated to showing the best in culturally diverse authentic programming for youth. Reel to real presents the annual reel 2 real international film festival for youth (r2r) and media arts programming year-round. Through hands-on workshops interactive discussions and public forums r2r involves youth in actively viewing discussing and creating film. Youth are exposed to ideas and cultural perspectives unavailable in mainstream media increasing their understanding of film appreciation in the process. In our effort to seek innovative ways to engage youth in discovering their community's stories and learning the history of our multicultural city reel to real also presents a variety of year-round programs and screenings including animating history bc stories and our world trapline.
