About Reach Out Chatham Kent (R.O.C.K.) Missions
The organization is a community-based homeless outreach program focused on delivering essential services to vulnerable populations through steet-level engagement. In 2024 the organization maintained operations at the wallaceburg drop-in centre and the chatham drop-in centre each consistently serving 30 to 40 individuals daily with nutritious meals and basic supports. Additionally the outreach initiative in chatham provided an average of 325 lunches per session directly to individuals in need. The peer-2-peer program was also sustained throughout the year leveraging the lived and living experience of participants to support community-based initiatives in collaboration with rock. This program assisted individuals with: obtaining or replacing health identification cards reintegrating post-incarceration reconnecting with family members through direct support and transportation. Furthermore the organization partnered with local churches to prepare and distribute 420 holiday meals as part of its seasonal outreach efforts. In 2024 the organization initiated several community-focused programs and fundraising activities to support its mission. Throughout may 2024 the organization offered aid to individuals living in encampments supporting the operation of approximately 35 tents.
