Volunteers prepare a mail out campaign for all local residents they visit local busineesses for donations and they stand shifts in front local locations with poppies for donations. About 50 volunteers will put in near 1000 hours in a two week period to raise money for needy veterans. Funding goes to lon term and short term care for veterans transportation for medical visits service dogs veterans transition and education programs ptsd strategies meals on wheels and the support of local sea cadet and navy league cadet corps. 10 to 12 volunteers meet for 2-3 hours 6 times per year in the organization of the annual poppy campaign which runs from the last friday in october until november 11.
