The purpose of the Institute is to promote and to assist in advancing radiation safety at work at home at school and in the environment. The Institute has three objectives: 1. to provide independent and impartial information education and training about radiation radiation exposure and radiation safety to all who request it; 2. to assist people and organizations to meet the practical challenges of radiation safety in the workplace in the environment and in homes and schools by applying to such challenges the knowledge and expertise acquired from the best scientific research available on radiation and radiation safety; 3. to assist in the practical resolution of disputes and controversies about exposure to radiation by offering independent and impartial mediation of such disputes should the parties so desire; To further these objectives the Institute provides a range of first-class scientific technical information eduation training and applied research from its education centre & laboratory services from its laboratory.
